Acicarb are used primarily as an antacid and systemic alkalizer to help manage conditions caused by excess stomach acid or metabolic acidosis. The enteric coating ensures the tablet passes through the stomach without dissolving, allowing it to be absorbed in the intestines, which can be beneficial for certain therapeutic goals.
USES
1.Reduces stomach acid to relieve heartburn, indigestion, or sour stomach.
2.Used to correct low blood pH in conditions like kidney disease or diabetic ketoacidosis (under medical supervision).
3.Makes urine less acidic to help treat certain types of kidney stones or urinary tract infections.
4.Helps manage certain drug overdoses (e.g., tricyclic antidepressants) by alkalinizing blood or urine.
5.Though uncommon today, it may also be used as a mild alkalizer in rare clinical recipes.
